Without enough sleep, your memory, mood, and immune function can all be negatively impacted. Maintain a regular sleep schedule, cut out caffeine, and keep up your sleep hygiene to maximize your chances of getting a good night’s rest.

It should come as no surprise to you that if you haven’t already, it’s very important to quit smoking after you turn 60. Smoking poses serious health risks, including lung disease and cardiovascular issues, and even if you’ve smoked for your whole life, quitting now could still help. You’ll notice improved breathing, circulation, and overall health, all of which can improve your happiness during your golden years.

Excessive Alcohol Consumption

There’s nothing wrong with having the occasional drink but consuming alcohol in excess can be very dangerous, particularly for older women. Not only could it lead to various health problems, such as liver disease, but it could cause you to have a nasty fall, which will come with all sorts of nasty consequences.

You need to stop doing this, as it could lead to unhealthy weight loss, nutritional deficiencies, and energy slumps. Try to stick to a balanced and healthy diet, helping to keep your blood sugar levels stable and energetic.

Another unhealthy habit women need to stop as they age is not drinking enough water. It’s never healthy to be dehydrated at any age, but after 60, it can seriously affect our energy levels, skin, and overall health. There’s no denying that it’s difficult to know how much to drink, but aim to drink eight glasses of water daily, and you’ll be okay.

Leading a Sedentary Lifestyle

It becomes increasingly important to get out and about as you get older, as leading a sedentary lifestyle can cause your body to degrade.
